About Our Founder, Tracy Klass

24 years ago I nearly lost my home, my marriage and my children.  And yet, I still couldn’t stop my addiction. I had been in and out of a revolving door of rehabs for more than two years, and none of them worked. No matter what I did, I just couldn’t stay sober.

Perhaps my “bottom” was the threat of losing my children.  After all, that is every mother’s worst nightmare.  Or maybe it was the heavy toll of social stigma and shame that was coming to define how others looked at me, and how I was beginning to look at myself.  But truth be told, I really think it watching my roomate in rehab, somebody like me , who seemingly had everything to lose, actually die from her addiction.  As it turns out, she relapsed one too many times, which led her to an untimely funeral (which unfortunately, is a tragic result that I’ve witnessed too many times over a 20 year career).

Regardless of what finally gave me the motivation to address my own situation, my  success came by working with a trained professional who actually helped me set up clear, action-oriented steps that supported my life, and my lifestyle. Together, we worked to lay the groundwork for a life on the other side of sobriety, and that groundwork has stood the test of time.  My own professional career has been shaped as a result.

With 20 years of uninterrupted sobriety, I’ve now counseled more than 800 people to redefine their own lives. For those that suffer, I don’t see sobriety as an end – I see it as an empowering and healthier beginning. Empathy and understanding are the foundations of my professional practice, and I have created my own way of working with clients and their families to establish vision, joy and change – for those who want it.

If I can do this, anyone can. I’m here to help.
